2ND STOP – ‘SIGIRIYA’ THE ANCIENT ROCK FORTRESS
This historic venue is considered as the 8th wonder of the world. A complete Palace built on top of the rock and a complete fortress around the rock. A UNESCO world heritage site which is a must to be included in your plan when visiting Sri Lanka. “History apart, you would not want to miss the view from the top”

3RD STOP – VILLAGE SAFARI WITH LUNCH
The best opportunity to relax yourself after two tiring climbs while witnessing the real beauty, inherent traditions and an amazing spread of local cousins of a Srilankan Village.
The Safari starts off with a Bull cart ride through the jungle reaching the bank of a beautiful natural lake. Then comes the experience of going on a catamaran ride in the lake towards a natural village home hidden in the middle of an amazing paddy field.
The last but the best part of the tour. A traditional Sri Lankan lunch buffet served in the village home and a practical display of various activities carried out by villagers in their day to day life while you experience the yummy spread of Rice, Vegetable Curries, Fried Fish and home grown Fruits.

4TH STOP – MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK
One of the main National Parks in Srilanka. Located close to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress Sri Lanka. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. One of the destinations to witness hundreds of Wild Elephants in their natural behavior. Apart from Elephants the park has become home to numerous other species like Birds, Butterflies, Fish Etc.

We had the most amazing day with our tour guide Rangana! He collected us at our hotel and drove us towards Sigiriya. Along the way he shared all of his amazing knowledge with us about different sights along the way. He suggested we stop off at a Spice Garden along the way (free of charge) where we got to see incredible spices growing fresh along with a guided tour of the spices.
We then reached the Sigiriya Rock. Rangana’s knowledge was incredible . We then were bought by Tuk Tuk to a local home where an amazing lunch was prepared with so many varities of curries and other local foods. Lastly, we continued to Minneriya National Park where we were collected by jeep for a Safari. This was one of the most incredible experiences we have ever had! We saw many herds of elephants as close as 1m away. There were water buffalo, eagles, monkeys, jackals and so much more. We spent more than enough time looking at all the animals.
This was one of the best tours we have ever done, Everything was so easy as you can sit back and enjoy every part of the day. We learned so much from Rangana and he went above and beyond for us! Do not miss this tour!
We had the most amazing trip to Dambulla Caves and Sigiriya Rock. Our guide, Indike, was incredible. He went above and beyond to accommodate our every need while also giving us the freedom to explore at our own pace. Indike’s wealth of knowledge about Sri Lanka was impressive, and he eagerly shared it with us, answering all our questions along the way. We had the best conversations and thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. Indike truly went the extra mile, making sure we had everything we needed and even stopped to let us admire an elephant on our way back. The trip was so great that we booked another adventure with him to Nuwara Eliya/Ella/Arugam Bay the next day. A huge thanks to Amazing Getaways and Indike for creating an unforgettable experience. It’s a journey we’ll cherish forever!

Amazing Getaways has been very accommodating with regards to our requests. The view from the Dambulla Cave Temple is amazing. It was a steep climb with stairs so be prepared. We’re not very fit so our lungs are exhausted from Dambulla. We decided to skip Sigiraya and went on to go to the village where we had an amazing traditional lunch! After this, we went on to the Minneriya National Reserve for the safari which was a surreal experience.
From Sanchitha’s excellent customer service as our tour coordinator and Madusanka’s encyclopedia knowledge as our tour guide, our day has been nothing short of amazing! I most definitely recommend going with them if you are staying anywhere in Sri Lanka for all your sightseeing experience
